Erie, Pa. - In the team's final tuneup before the PSAC Team Championships begin on Friday, the Marauder men's tennis team came out on the wrong end of a 9-0 decision at Mercyhurst Sunday afternoon.
Two of Millersville's doubles tandems reached five game wins apiece. The combo of Tucker Mertz and Dylan Ryan fell by an 8-5 score, as did the duo of Kevin Tran and Anthony Jadus. In singles play, Jadus and Jody Sambrick Jr. both took their opponents to a seventh game in losing efforts. Jadus dropped his match from the No. 6 slot in the lineup by scores of 6-2, 7-6 (3-0), and Sambrick dropped 6-3, 7-5 margins to Jorn van der Veer.
With the loss, the Marauders' record falls to 3-12. The team now heads into the PSAC Team Championships, which start Friday at Bloomsburg University.
