Box Score Millersville, Pa. - Senior
Ian Sadon produced a career day on the ground, but Kutztown's offense built an early lead and sent Millersville to a 45-9 loss Saturday.
Sadon piled up a career-high 168 yards on 31 carries, totaling the most rushing yards by a Marauder since Cardoza Jacks' 275 against Cheyney in 2008. It was his fourth 100-yard game of the season, third in the last five games, and also scored his fifth touchdown of the season in the final quarter.
Kutztown (2-7, 2-4 PSAC) posted 338 yards of total offense with 205 passing yards and a touchdown from Josh Luckenbaugh and 44 rushing yards and two scores from Curtis Wortham leading the way. The Golden Bear defense was a big help to the offense, turning the Marauders' over three times in the first half with two interceptions and fumble recovery directly led to touchdowns. Kutztown built a 31-0 halftime lead when Zach Greenwald picked up a fumble and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown with 1:52 left in the half. That advantage was quickly expanded when Wortham returned the opening kickoff of the second half 91 yards for a touchdown.
Millersville broke into the scoring column with 9:46 left in the third quarter when
Evan Stahl improved to 3-for-3 on field goal attempts this season with a 37-yarder. Millersville's drive included six Sadon runs--one for 34 yards. Millersville's touchdown drive was all Sadon. He touched the ball on 10 of the 14 plays and accounted for 55 of the 75 yards.
Kevin Porter caught four passes for 52 yards. The defense matched a season-high with three sacks.
Doug Henninger,
Gilbert Ramos and
Marvin Gaskill each recorded one.
Reggie Slaton totaled a team-high 12 stops.
Millersville travels to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Nov. 9 for a 1:05 p.m. kickoff.
