MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Millersville football's fifth annual Wall of Honor inductees will be recognized during the Saturday, Oct. 25 game against Bloomsburg. This year's class includes: Raymond Critchfield '64, Chris Hangen '86, Shawn Landis '95, Joe Malone '72, Juan Jones '05, and Mark Wadel '00.
The physical wall of honor is located outside the entrance to the Millersville locker room. The 2025 class was inducted as part of the program's alumni weekend festivities in the spring. The six inductees join a group of 71 former players, coaches, and contributors. A committee of alumni, coaches, and university supporters selected the class.Â
The six inductees will be honored at halftime of the game, which will kick off at 12 p.m.Â
Juan Jones
Jones was a standout running back for Millersville in the 2000s. In 2005, he produced one of the most productive seasons in school history. His 16 rushing touchdowns and 294 rushing attempts that season still stand atop the single-season record books. He also rushed for 1,334 yards, which ranks fourth all-time for yards in a single season. For his efforts, Jones was named All-PSAC East First Team. In 2004, he scored five touchdowns against Kutztown, which tied him for most touchdowns and points scored in a single game in school history. He currently sits second in the Millersville record books for career touchdowns.
Raymond Critchfield
Critchfield was a four-year starter on the defensive line. Known for his strength and quickness, "Critch" became a two-way starter in his senior season. Raymond played a pivotal role in lifting the Marauders to a 5-3 record in 1963, leading a defense that surrendered an average of only 7.0 points per game. Following his time at Millersville, Raymond went on to serve for the Pennsylvania State Police for 31 years.
Joe Malone
Malone was a four-year starter at center for the Marauders and anchored an offensive line that produced the first 1,000-yard rusher in decades. An All-PSAC East First Team selection in 1971, Joe was an integral part of the first team that produced a winning season in eight years. He was also selected numerous weeks as an ECAC All-Star and earned multiple Marauder of the Week honors. Following his graduation from Millersville, Joe taught for 35 years in the Governor Mifflin School District and served as a counselor at the Lancaster Boys and Girls Club. He also earned a master's degree in education from Millersville University.
Chris Hangen
Hangen was a four-year standout at nose guard. He is one of only four Marauders to earn four All-PSAC East honors stretching from 1982-1985. He was also All-ECAC First Team and an Honorable Mention All-American. Hangen holds the career sack record with 40 sacks. He recorded double-digit sacks three times, including 16 in 1984--a total that still ranks second all-time.Â
Shawn Landis
Landis was an outstanding linebacker, ranking first in the Millersville record books for fumble recoveries. He also ranks third in career solo tackles and seventh in career total tackles. Landis was a part of two PSAC East Championships and served as a team captain during the historic run by the 1995 Marauders. Shawn was recognized for his production by being named All-PSAC East in 1994 and 1995.
Mark Wadel
Wadel was a standout offensive lineman and four-year starter in the trenches for the Black & Gold. He earned All-ECAC honors in 1999 and was named All-America Third Team by Don Hansen's Football Gazette. Mark blocked for the most prolific passing offense in program history and helped the Marauders to a 1998 PSAC East title as well as an NCAA Playoff appearance in 1999.
