Marauders Close Out Fall with Loss to Cavaliers

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team fell to Walsh University 9-0 Thursday afternoon in its final dual of the fall season.
Marauder Elizabeth Wagner was swept by Sofya Logunova in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0). The Cavaliers earned their second consecutive shutout in No. 2 singles when Daria Bondareva defeated Millersville's Tori Davis (6-0, 6-0). No. 3 singles was highlighted by the Black and Gold's Alexandra Heller against Alona Skobkina with the visitor taking the decision by a 6-0, 6-1. Alisha Angle defeated Stefanie Fisher in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Millersville's Maggie Karr took on Anastasiya Dasik in No. 5 singles but came up short, 6-2, 6-0. The Black and Gold's Heather Grove was beaten by default in No. 6 singles by Arina Kravitz.
No. 1 doubles saw Wagner and Davis take on Logunova and Skobkina and the guests came out on top by an 8-2 final. Heller and Fisher were shutout by Kravitz and DiDomenico in No. 2 doubles (8-0). Bondareva and Angle took No. 3 doubles by default.
The Marauders will next play on spring break (March 15-21) in Hilton Head, S.C. with their opponents to be decided.
