
Men's Tennis Falls to USP in PSAC Tune-Up

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team dropped its regular season finale Sunday afternoon to University of the Sciences by a 7-2 final.
The match was a tune-up for the PSAC Team Championship that starts Saturday at Bloomsburg. Millersville, now 3-10 overall, qualified for the tournament after posting a 2-3 mark in league play.
Millersville, Edinboro and West Chester were locked a three-way tie for two playoff spots. The ties weren't decided until the fifth tiebreaker, which was total courts won. Millersville held a 17-16 edge over Edinboro and was set as the No. 3 seed. Edinboro qualified as the No. 4 seed and West Chester was left outside the postseason.
On Sunday, the Marauders were overwhelmed by a 7-7 USP squad. The Devils won the top four singles matches and two of three doubles matches. Tucker Mertz had Millersville's lone singles win. He won a three-set decision over William Metz at No. 5 singles.
The doubles point came from the Marauders' No. 3 team of Corey Garnier and Kevin Tran. The duo beat Metz and Paul Bedway, 8-6.
Millersville faces Kutztown in the PSAC Semifinals Saturday at 3 p.m.
