Cheyney, Pa. - The Millersville women's tennis team improved to 14-0 all-time against Cheyney Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 PSAC Eastern Division victory.
The Marauders did not drop a single game in doubles or singles competition. The No. 1 doubles team of Melissa Plowman and Samantha Prager improved to an impressive 8-3 on the season with an 8-0 win. Individually, Plowman boosted her No. 1 singles mark to 6-5 with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Newcomers Anna Ageyeva and Maggie Karr both made successful debuts. Ageyeva teamed with Alexandra Heller for a sweep at No. 3 doubles, and Karr scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Kara Fisher competed in her first collegiate tennis match since 2006 Tuesday, playing at No. 3 singles, where she won 6-0, 6-0, and at No. 2 doubles, where she picked up a 8-0 win with Kelsey Waite. Fisher graduated from Millersville with a bachelor's degree in 2006 and is now back to earn a master's degree.
Millersville is now 3-8 on the season and 1-0 against the PSAC East. The team returns to action on March 30 at Bloomsburg.
