Millersville, Pa. – The Millersville field hockey team moved up to No. 6 in the newly released national poll Tuesday, jumping Kutztown, which came in at No.7. The Golden Bears took exception to the new rankings with a convincing 2-1 win over the Marauders at Chryst Field at Biemsderfer Stadium Tuesday evening.

In the 20th minute, Kutztown's Emily Labowitz scored on a clean shot in the box to put the Golden Bears up, 1-0. Kutztown outshot Millersville 6-4 in the first half, possessing the ball in the offensive zone for most of the session.

Kutztown handled the Marauders in the second half, almost doubling their first half shot total. Millersville's goalkeeper Sarah Dickinson stepped up big in her second game back, making 11 saves on 13 shots on goal. The Golden Bears ended the game with 17 shots to Millersville's 10.
Freshman Rachel Dickinson, up from her defensive position, received a penalty corner from Nicole Cave in the final minute of play. The ball found its way through the crowd and into the goal to cut the lead in half with 57 seconds left in regulation.
The Marauders made one last surge through midfield before the Golden Bears stopped the charge and ran out the clock.
