Philadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team did just enough to nip homestanding Chestnut Hill for its sixth win Friday afternoon. Millersville pulled off a 5-4 victory to improve to 3-0 all-time over the Griffiins.
The closely contested wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles proved to be the difference for the Marauders, who improved to 6-3. Ryan Knarr lost his first set to Julius Twyman, 4-6. But he bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second and a 10-3 win in the third. Henry Ben needed a first-set tiebreaker to overcome Jeramy Solema, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.
In the No. 2 flight, Drew Slocum improved to 9-4 on the season with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Juan Farah.
In doubles, Slocum and Preetham Moras defeated Farah and Villafuerte Joson by quick 8-0 count. Tyler Reppert and Donald Swantko also cruised in the No. 2 slot, 8-1.
Millersville hosts Dowling on April 1 at 10 a.m.
