Volleyball Sweeps East Stroudsburg; Strong Final Match for Huss

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – Playing her final match in a Marauder uniform, senior Allison Huss knocked down the 1,000th kill her career in a 3-0 sweep of East Stroudsburg. The win gave Millersville an 18-18 (7-12 PSAC East) finish. It was the first time since 2004 that the volleyball team has finished at .500.

Huss joined Jennie Rohrerbaugh as only the second player in school history to register 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs for her career. Her 14 kills paced the team on offense and were part of a double-double, adding 13 digs. The Marauders used Huss' strong performance to cruise to set victories of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-23.

Freshman Katie Lesinski finished off a stellar first year with a strong performance, finishing with nine kills and five total blocks on defense (one solo). Also playing in her final match was senior Brittany Lease, who added five kills and two aces to the Marauder attack.

Katie Pisano and Jessica Franz took turns setting up the Millersville attack, finishing with 18 and 13 assists, respectively. Pisano also tallied two aces. Mary Paul and Sue Caramanico gave strong efforts on the defensive end for the Marauders. Paul blocked four total kill attempts (one solo) and added three aces. Caramanico finished with a team-high 18 digs.

Looking forward to next season, the Marauders return all but three players from this season's roster: seniors Huss, Lease and Kellie Conahan. The team can build on a .500 finish and make a run at their first playoff appearance since 2005.
