Millersville, Pa. – Millersville came into Saturday's match with Lock Haven off of back-to-back shutouts and looking to gain ground on a PSAC East opponent. Lock Haven had other plans. The visiting Bald Eagles came to Pucillo Gymnasium and shut the Marauders out on their home floor, 3-0.
The Marauders allowed the Bald Eagles to hit .291 as a team en route to set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-21 including a .333 attack percentage in the first two sets. On the flip side, Millersville's offense never seemed to click on all cylinders as it hit just .126 in this match.
For a third-straight match, Allison Huss carried the offense for the Marauders to the tune of nine kills with a .250 attack percentage. She added six digs on the defensive side to her total.
Other top performers for Millersville were Mary Paul, who posted five kills, three digs and a block-assists and Alyssa Ott, who added four kills and three block-assists. Katie Pisano also did her part, as she added 15 assists, seven digs and three block-assists to tie her with Paul for a team high.
Gao Xuan fueled the Lock Haven attack, with a match-high 13 kills on .344 hitting. Hayley Gribler added a double-double for the Bald Eagles, finishing with 10 kills and 10 digs.
The loss drops Millersville to 11-14 (4-8 PSAC East) on the season. The team hits the road for a doubleheader against Cheyney on Tuesday, looking to take both from the winless Wolves before returning home to face Elizabethtown on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
