
La Salle Squeaks Past Marauders

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team took two of three doubles matches from homestanding La Salle Tuesday evening, but the Pioneers won four of the six singles matches to nip the Marauders, 4-3.
One year ago, Division I La Salle routed the Marauders 8-1. This time around, however, Millersville nearly pulled off the upset but dropped to 1-1 on the season with the loss. According to Division I rules, Millersville earned just one point for their two doubles victories as opposed to two points.
Tyler Reppert and Erik Wright notched a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles and Henry Ben and Donald Swantko rolled to an 8-3 triumph in the third spot, sealing the point for the Marauders.
In singles, No. 2 Andrew Sorgi won a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 match over Chris Harvey. At No. 4, Ben won the first set 6-3, then won the second 7-6 (7-0) to give the Marauders their second singles point. La Salle, however, took singles victories at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 and No. 6.
Millersville travels to Bloomsburg, Pa., this weekend for the ITA Atlantic Regionals.
