Indiana, Pa.- The Millersville women's volleyball team dropped two games in the first day of PSAC crossover action this weekend in Indiana.
Indiana (Pa.) (7-6) downed the Marauders in straight sets in the first match of the day by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-12. Leading the squad was senior
Meredith Sinback, who recorded a team high six kills and 10 assists, but it wasn't enough for the Marauders (8-8, 2-0 PSAC East) to keep up.
Throughout the game, IUP held a 34-26 advantage in kills along with tallying seven service aces. Although freshman
Katie Galuska tallied a team-high 11 digs, the Crimson Hawk's offence proved too much for Millersville.
The Marauders could not recover from IUP's pressure, recording 19 attack errors with some players posting negative hitting percentages.
In the second match of the night, the Marauders were swept by Slippery Rock 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-13). Freshman
Jill Toronchuk tallied seven kills and eight digs and Sinback recorded 11 assists in the defeat.
The Rock (5-9) posted six aces and five blocks as a team. In the third set of the match, the Marauders tallied more attack errors than kills, totaling 21 compared to SRU's 10.
