Men's Tennis Takes Season Opener

Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville men's tennis team opened its 2009-10 campaign on the right foot Sunday afternoon with a 7-2 victory over visiting Chestnut Hill.
The Marauders (1-0) dominated from the start, sweeping all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. The top team of Drew Slocum and Andrew Sorgi topped Carson Richter and Julius Twyman, 8-3. Newcomer Tyler Reppert teamed with sophomore Erik Wright for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. The 2009 All-PSAC doubles team of Henry Ben and Donald Swantko picked up right where it left off and notched an 8-5 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Slocum cruised at No.1, and Reppert won his Millersville debut playing in the No. 2 slot. Ben and Negron also notched singles victories.
Millersville travels to La Salle for a 3 p.m. dual on Sept. 22.
