Syracuse, N.Y. - The Millersville women's volleyball team split a pair of matches in the first day of the Le Moyne Tournament on Saturday in Syracuse.
The Marauders (4-6) fell to tournament host Le Moyne 3-1 (25-17, 27-25, 25-20, 24-26) in their first match of the day, despite extending it to four close sets. Senior
Meredith Sinback set the pace for Millersville, leading the team with 10 kills and 19 assists.
Sophomore
Allison Huss recorded a team-high 11 digs and three service aces. Kaylin Brainerd recorded more than half of the total kills for Le Moyne (4-0) with 25.
In the second match of the day, Millersville swept American International, 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-17). This time around, freshman
Jill Toronchuk guided the Marauders, tallying 10 kills, 19 digs and four blocks. Sinback posted two service aces in the match and led the team in assists with 16. Freshman
Caitlin Forest added 11 assists.
The Yellow Jackets (3-2) worked together to produce 20 kills and eight blocks total. They couldn't top the Marauders, however, who posted 35 kills, 39 digs and seven blocks as a team.
Millersville returns to action tomorrow for the second day of the Le Moyne Tournament. The Marauders face Dominican at 9 a.m. and C.W. post at 11:15 a.m.
