Box Score

Millersville, Pa. - Using a balanced attack that featured eight players with a kill and six with a service ace, the Millersville women's volleyball team rolled past Goldey-Beacom Thursday evening in Pucillo Gymnasium by a 3-0 sweep.

The Marauders (3-5)--winners of three of their last four--put together their most complete effort of the season. The team recorded at least 10 kills in each of the three sets and posted a season-high .311 attack percentage.

With the score tied at 4-4 in the first set, Katie Galuska tallied a service ace, and from there the Marauders never looked back. Millersville extended the lead to 17-12, and with Caitlin Forest serving, the Marauders took eight straight points to seal a 25-12 first set victory.

It was a similar story in the second set. Goldey-Beacom stayed close until Kellie Conahan served with the scored tied at 7-7. Conahan ripped two of her match-high four aces, and Kristin Anderson recorded three kills as the Marauders rattled off eight straight points again. With the advantage at eight, Goldey-Beacom could not recover, and the Marauders eventually pushed the lead to 11 after three straight attack errors by the Lightening. The Marauders closed a 25-14 win on back-to-back kills from Allison Huss and Meredith Sinback.

Early in set three, Goldey-Beacom had the upper hand and was looking to extend the match to a fourth set. The visitors led by as many as three, and the set stood tied at 14-14 before Sinback and fellow senior Emily Bires pushed the Marauders in front with a pair of kills apiece. Millersville closed out the match with a 25-18 win in the third set.

Huss led the Marauders with eight kills and committed just one error on 15 swings. She also recorded a team-best six digs. Sinback totaled 14 assists, four service aces and seven kills. Anderson was outstanding at the net, leading the team with two block solos and two block assists to go with five kills. Forest finished with four service aces, and Galuska added two.

The Marauders return to action this weekend with four matches in Syracuse, N.Y. at Le Moyne.
