Marauders Fall to Edinboro in Four Sets

Millersville, Pa.- In the first day of PSAC crossover action, the Millersville women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Edinboro 3-1, by scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-20.

The Marauders (10-16, 3-7 PSAC) were led by senior Emily Bires who posted a team high 11 kills while adding four digs. Bires also recorded a team high .385 attack percentage.

Edinboro (14-6, 6-2 PSAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with close wins in the first to sets. In the third set, the Fighting Scots to commit 10 errors and five players recorded negative hitting percentages, helping the Marauders take the third set by two points.

The Marauders kept it close in the fourth, but Edinboro pulled away late, posting thirteen digs and two blocks in the final set to end the match. Olivia Williams led all players with 24 kills, and Megan Osysko recorded 44 assists.

Freshman Katie Galuska collected 11 digs, and senior Meredith Sinback tallied 27 assists. As a team, Millersville recorded four blocks and six service aces.

The Marauders return to Pucillo Gymnasium Saturday, Oct. 10 for further conference crossover action. The first match is slated for 10 a.m. when Millersville will face Mercyhurst.
