Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's volleyball team looked to improve upon its two-match win streak Saturday, but it couldn't keep pace with Lock Haven's high-powered offense and dropped a 3-0 decision by scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-12.
The Marauders (10-14, 3-6 PSAC) came out strong and stood deadlocked at 7-7 in the first half. Lock Haven (14-4, 5-2 PSAC), however, forced Millersville to commit more errors than points in the first set.
Marauders struggled in the second set, tallying just eight points. It tied a season low for points in a set.
The Lady Eagles' held a 36-11 margin in kills, recording a .280 attack percentage on the day compared to Marauders' -.113. Lock Haven played outstanding defensively as well, tallying seven total blocks and 59 digs.
Five different Marauders recorded at least four digs, and they were led by
Megan Sharkey's eight. Senior
Meredith Sinback posted eight assists and four block assists.
Ami Killinger also added four block assists.
Millersville returns to the floor on Wednesday, Oct. 7 when they host Philadelphia University at 7 p.m.
