Millersville, Pa. – Millersville picked up its third win of the season after sweeping Bloomfield Saturday evening and nearly upset undefeated Lock Haven earlier in the day, but fell 3-1 in a tri-meet held at Pucillo Gymnasium.

Millersville (3-7) made quick work of Bloomfield as they took the first three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-15 and 25-19.

Earlier in the day, the Marauders gave the Bald Eagles just their second set loss of the season and nearly pushed the match to a fifth set, before falling short in the fourth, 29-27.

The Marauders fell by identical scores of 25-19 in the first two sets. The Bald Eagles looked as if they would sweep the match and record their 30th consecutive set win. However, the Marauders responded in the third set with a 25-21 win and carried the momentum into the fourth.

With neither team able to take control of the set, the two teams went back and forth before Lock Haven ended the match with back-to-back kills.

The Marauders will look to pick up their first victory in PSAC Eastern Division play when they head to Cheyney on Tuesday, September 23 for a 7 p.m. start.
