Philadelphia , Pa. – Junior setter Meredith Sinback led the Millersville University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 shutout victory over hosting University of the Sciences Thursday evening in Philadelphia.
The win marked the Marauders (7-15, 2-7 PSAC East) second victory in as many chances. The Marauders won their second conference game of the season on Saturday against East Stroudsburg by an identical 3-0 score. Millersville won tonight's match by set scores of 25-17, 26-24, and 25-19.
Sinback collected 13 assists to lead the Marauders and also pitched in with seven kills and nine digs. Freshman setter Brittany Lease finished with 12 assists while senior libero Laura Navin chipped in with 12 digs. Junior outside hitter Emily Bires led the Marauders with 10 kills.
Millersville recorded double-digit kills in each of the three games and use its match-high 15 kills in the second set to squeak out the two-point (26-24) victory.
The Lady Marauders have now won three of their past five contests and will look to win three in a row for the first time this season when they travel to Wilmington , Delaware on Saturday to take on Nyack College beginning at 2 p.m.
