Millersville Drops Two of Three at Regional Crossover

Shippensburg, Pa. – The Millersville University women's volleyball team ended a six-match slide Saturday morning after defeating New York Institute of Technology by a final of 3-1 at the regional crossovers held at Shippensburg University.

Millersville's lone win at the crossovers came after the team fell to Alderson Broaddus (14-7) Friday evening by a final of 3-0. Millersville also fell in their final match at Heiges Fieldhouse Saturday evening when New Haven (16-3) upended the Marauders, 3-1. New Haven took the first set 23-25 but Millersville bounced back with a convincing 25-7 win in the second set. New Haven, however, responded by edging the Marauders 25-23 in the third and 25-15 in the fourth.

In Friday's matchup with Alderson Broaddus, the Marauders fell by scores of 25-14, 29-27, and 25-16.

Millersville's four-set victory Saturday morning over NYIT (9-17) ended a six-match losing streak for the team. MU won by scores of 25-18, 27-29, 25-18, and 27-25.

The Marauders will begin the home stretch of their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division schedule Tuesday, October 14, when they travel to West Chester to take on the Golden Rams at 7 p.m. West Chester defeated Millersville in the two teams' first matchup back on September 5 by a score of 3-1.
