A coach with a track record of leading productive Division II offenses, Brian Ferguson became Millersville's offensive coordinator in 2025. He was promoted to the program's interim head coach on Oct. 6.Â
Ferguson brings to Millersville a foundation in Division II and experience as a head coach, experience in the NFL, Arena Football and as a successful offensive coordinator in Super Region 1. Most recently, Ferguson served as the head coach at Concord University in 2023-24, moving into that role after serving as the offensive coordinator for three seasons. The season before his promotion, Ferguson coached Concord to national top-10 rankings in points per game, yards per game, passing yards, passing touchdowns and total touchdowns. Concord went 9-2 that season, and Ferguson developed an All-American wide receiver as well as an all-super region quarterback and running back. In his time as the offensive coordinator, Concord averaged 31.5 points per game. In his first season of 2021, Concord ranked second in the Mountain East in passing offense.Â
Before arriving at Concord, he served as offensive coordinator for Division II Tusculum, joining the staff in 2016 after helping Jacksonville University to a Pioneer Football League Championship as the quarterbacks coach in 2014-15. He also coached wide receivers, running backs and offensive line from 2008-09 at Tiffin.Â
In between stops in the Division II ranks, Ferguson enjoyed a championship run with the Jacksonville Sharks in the Arena Football League, helping the team to the ArenaBowl in 2011 and making another appearance in the title game in 2015.Â
Early in his career, Ferguson spent time coaching at the high school level, but he broke into coaching as a strength and conditioning coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and spent three seasons with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe, helping the team to two World Bowl appearances.Â
Ferguson played three seasons at Adams State, earned a bachelor's degree at Northern Colorado, and later returned to Adams State to earn a master's degree.Â
