Former Marauder standout and assistant coach Lamar Jackson joined Jody Sambrick's staff prior to the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach to both the men and women's programs.
From 1994-97, Jackson helped the Marauders qualify for the NCAA Tournamen three times, winning a regional championship in 1996. He was named All-PSAC in 1994 and 1995. Jackson won 24 matches in 1995-96, a total that still ranks fifth all-time. He also went 20-7 in 1996-97. His 71 career wins ranks third in Millersville history and his .725 winning percentage is fourth all-time.
After a successful collegiate career, Jackson joined the Marauders as an assistant coach and helped the women's program to PSAC Championships in 2001 and 2002 and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He also coached the men's program to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths. Lauren Witmer and Keith Mahaffey both won PSAC Player of the Year awards under his watch.
His playing career also continued after he left Millersville. He reached the quarterfinals of the the ATA National Tennis Championship in 1997. He earned a No. 1 ranking in the USTA Middle States Section-Mixed Doubles Open Division and a No. 7 ranking in the USTA Florida Section.
Jackson is a USPTA Certified Teaching Professional and has conducted junior and adult lessons at Hempfield Sports Complex, Bent Creek Country Club and Hershey Racquet Club since 2001.
Jackson earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1997 and returned to Millersville to earn a master's degree in sport management in 2003.
