- Started 23 games and played in 28, alternating games with fellow freshman catcher Sammy Laux
- Overcame slow start at the plate to hit .265 with a .940 OPS, .469 OBP, two homers and 10 RBIs in 14 starts against the PSAC East
- Was hit by 11 pitches (second on the team) and drew six walks compared to 12 strikeouts
- Outstanding defensive catcher with a strong arm, throwing out seven of 19 runners
- Hit .267 from March 19 through the end of the season
