David Baker has been an integral part of the Millersville baseball program and its successes for the last 16 seasons, starting as a student assistant and volunteer coach. He was promoted to lead assistant and the program's recruiting coordinator in the summer of 2016 and also serves as the team's bench coach.Â
As a member of the coaching staff, Baker has been a part of some of Millersville's greatest on-field achievements. Since 2011, the Marauders have won nine PSAC East titles, played in 12 NCAA Atlantic Regionals, appeared in the 2011, 2016 and 2023 NCAA Division II Championships and won the 2015, 2022 and 2025 PSAC Championships. Baker has seen nine Marauders selected in the MLB Draft since 2009.
Baker first arrived at Millersville as a pitcher in 2009 but shoulder surgeries ended his playing career. Despite the medical difficulties, Baker remained a fixture within the program. Baker joined the coaching staff as a student assistant in 2011 and worked his way to the position of first base coach and then landed the lead assistant position following the departure of Ryan Forrest in 2016.Â
Baker received a bachelor's degree from Millersville in 2015.Â
