A Lancaster, Pa., native and pitcher at Bucknell University, Dan Weigel joined the Millersville baseball coaching staff as pitching coach prior to the 2017 season.

Weigel graduated from Bucknell as the program's career leader and single season record holder in innings pitched, and has since built a lengthy and varied resume in baseball. As a coach, Weigel most recently served as the pitching coach at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, and also coached with Rock Sports Arm Strength and Training, the Great Britain Cadets, a 15U National Team, which played in the European Championship Qualifier, the London Mets Big League and the London Mets 16U team, which played in the Pony League European Championships in Praque, Czech Republic.

Weigel played high school baseball at Lampeter-Strasburg before a four-year career at Bucknell. Weigel won 16 games and posted a 3.79 ERA in 51 appearances and 278 1/3 innings. As a senior, he won a team-high eight games and posted a 2.86 ERA in 97 2/3 innings. He threw a complete game in the 2014 NCAA Charlottesville Regional. Weigel was named All-Patriot League First Team in 2014. Additionally, Weigel was a four-time member of the Academic All-Patriot League Team, graduating with a double major in philosophy and religion.

Weigel continued his playing career in the Australian Baseball League with the MacArthur Orioles. He then played for the London Mets of the National Baseball League in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2015.

Outside of coaching Weigel has written about the game extensively, serving as a contributor for SB Nation's Minor League Ball, Beyond the Box Score and Sporting News. Weigel also served as an intern at Baseball Info Solutions in 2014 and with the Washington Nationals in 2016.
