NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Fighting through windy conditions at the Jeffersonville Golf Club, the Millersville men's golf team put together a resilient performance to claim third place in a competitive field at the Jefferson University Spring Invitational. The Marauders finished the two-day event with a team total of 608, finishing just one stroke behind runner-up Goldey-Beacom (607) and ten shots back of tournament champion Saint Thomas Aquinas (588).
Leading the way for the Marauders was senior Bo Meakim, whose consistency across both rounds earned him a top-10 individual finish. Meakim navigated the challenging conditions to post a steady score, providing the veteran leadership needed to keep Millersville at the top of the leaderboard.
The Marauders showed impressive depth in the middle of the lineup, as Max Pflieger and Logan Wagner finished in a dead heat. Both golfers played disciplined rounds to finish tied for 13th overall. Their ability to match the field's pace and limit mistakes on the greens proved vital in securing the team's podium spot.
The story of the final round, however, belonged to freshman Cole Duffy. After a difficult opening day, Duffy staged a massive comeback during the second round. He carded the team's best score of the day, finishing just two-over-par. That late surge allowed Duffy to climb the leader board into 23rd place, providing the Marauders with the scoring spark they needed to edge out conference rivals like West Chester and Bloomsburg.
With three golfers inside the top 15 and a surging freshman class, the Marauders carry significant momentum into their next outing at the Lone Pine Invitational.
