
Morrissey named season's first PSAC East Pitcher of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Millersville University senior Joe Morrissey's two relief appearances and contributions to the first combined no-hitter in program history earned him the season's first PSAC East Pitcher of the Week award.
Morrissey logged 6 1/3 innings in his two appearances and surrendered just one run, three hits and two walks while striking out 10. He fanned three batters in 2 1/3 innings against Wingate on Feb. 8, and five days later, he struck out seven and allowed just one runner to reach base in four hitless innings against Molloy.
Against Molloy, Morrissey picked up a save and teamed with Alex Kuehn for the seventh no-hitter in Millersville history and the program's first since 2017.
The award is the first of Morrissey's career. He owns a 1.42 ERA, .143 batting average against and 0.79 WHIP this season.
