SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Millersville University senior Matthew Williams has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-Atlantic Region team while his team was voted No. 3 in the Atlantic Region Preseason Poll.
Williams, who was an all-region first team selection in 2025, is back after setting Millersville's single-season (18) and career (35) home run records. He ranked in the PSAC's top five in home runs, RBIs, run, slugging percentage and OPS. He was named the PSAC Tournament MVP and hit .361 with five homers and 10 RBIs in nine postseason games.
Millersville received one first-place vote from the committee but East Stroudsburg, the reigning region champ, received eight first-place votes to claim the top spot. Seton Hill landed at No. 2 and West Chester landed at No. 4.
The Marauders went 44-10, won the PSAC Championship and earned the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Region in 2025 but face significant roster turnover after graduating four of their top five hitters and three of four weekend starters. Millersville, however, has reached the NCAA Atlantic Regional each season since 2013--the third longest active streak in Division II.
