BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Millersville men's tennis team battled the Bloomsburg Huskies in a down-to-the-wire dual that broke against the Marauders, as they were eliminated from the PSAC Tournament semifinals in a 4–3 loss.
'Ville got off to a strong start, dominating doubles play early to jump ahead. Sandor Wulf and Victor Suarez got the first win of the day in a 6–2 victory over Fernando Barros and Jaime Soria in the third match, and Lino Morin and Sebas Castro took care of business in the top spot against Sergio Dilan and Vishesh Patel in a 6–4 decision.
However, Bloomsburg bounced back with three straight wins to start singles play, taking control of the dual and putting the Marauders on the ropes. Joel Oetliker stopped the run with a 1–6, 6–0, 7–5 win against Soria, and Jasper de Koning evened things up against Patel in a 7–5, 2–6, 6–4 victory. With the dual tied 3–3, it came down to the fifth singles match, and the Huskies came away with a three-set win to advance to the conference championship.
The Marauders currently hold the ninth spot in the latest Atlantic Region rankings, and ended the spring season with a 7–7 record against Division II opponents and a 6–6 record against in-region teams.
