Millersville men's golf closes Super Regional in 14th place

| By:
ERIE, Pa. - The Millersville men's golf team shot its best round of the 54-hole NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional Saturday, and finished in 14th out of 20 teams.

Millersville shot an 18-over 306 on Saturday, getting a 1-over 73 from Timothy Peters. But it wasn't enough to make up for the opening round 323 and the second round 320. Davis & Elkins and Gannon tied for first at 24-over for the event, with the decider coming down to the No. 5 player's total.

Peters, whose banner season included four wins, finished sixth at the super regional a season ago, but he struggled out of the gate this week, shooting a 77 in round one and his highest round of the season--an 80--in round two. Peters' strong finish on Saturday moved him into a tie for 33rd at 14-over. Eric Miller finished one shot behind in 37th place. He improved his score every round, opening with a 79, following with a 77 and closing with a 75.

Freshman Logan Wagner fired a 75 on Saturday to finish at 25-over and in 69th place.  Bo Meakim placed 86th, and Josh Baker placed 91st.

The super regional appearance was Millersville's third in a row and 10th in the last 11 seasons.
