Langer, Vaughan take home All-PSAC East softball honors

| By:

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Millersville softball standouts Jocelyn Langer and Carly Vaughan have earned earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East honors for their outstanding play during the 2025 campaign. Langer was named to the First Team as an outfielder while Vaughan claimed a Second Team spot as a non-pitcher utility player.

Langer's season was one for the books. After not getting on base in her first two collegiate games, the freshman proceeded to reach safely in every game for the rest of the season, a total of 50 straight. She had a hit in 45 of those contests to total 65 on the year, a mark that ranked fifth in the PSAC and fourth in team history. Among players within the conference, Langer also finished among the top five in on-base percentage (.503, fourth), walks (30, T-third), and runs scored (45, T-fourth). Her totals for walks and runs scored are both second in program history.

The rookie outfielder also batted .406 and swiped 18 bags, both of which ranked among the top 10 in the conference during the regular season. She's the first freshman Marauder to hit .400 since Janell Smith set the program record with a .495 average in 1997, and the first to earn All-PSAC honors since shortstop Davina Kachnovitz in 2011. Langer was also excellent in the field, totaling 111 chances while playing all three outfield spots and committing just one error for a .991 fielding percentage.

Batting second or third for much of the season, Vaughan played a valuable role for the Marauders both in the lineup and in the field. She split time between third base and catcher and threw out five of 16 base stealers when behind the plate. In the batter's box, Vaughan batted .350 with a .906 OPS. Whether she was asked to move a runner over or drive them in, the sophomore delivered, leading the team with eight sacrifice hits and finishing second with 26 runs batted in.

Like Langer, Vaughan was constantly on base in 2025. She was second on the 'Ville with 17 walks and set a new program record by recording 16 hit by pitches, combining for a .463 on base percentage; that was good for 12th in the PSAC.
