Marauders improve their marks at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — The Marauders competed in their penultimate meet of the regular season at the Paul Kaiser Classic, getting a final tune-up as a team before preparing for the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
NOTABLE RESULTS
  • Katelyn Murphy made one last improvement on her time in the 100-meter hurdles, moving up to second place in the conference. The sophomore clocked in with a time of 14.51, winning the event at the meet.
  • Cora Heilman also improved her time in the 800-meter run, finishing in fifth place with a time of 2:20.20.
  • The team of Aasly De Leon, Heather Lesinski, Delaney Wenger, and Arianna Kouakou set a new mark for the Marauders in the 100-meter relay, with the squad finishing with a time of 47.65.
  • Breia Mayes also left the meet with an improved mark, finishing the 3,000-meter steeplechase in fifth place. Mayes ended the race with a time of 12:14.90
  • Maddy Downs jumped up one spot on the PSAC leaderboard in the shot put with her performance on the day, narrowly beating her previous mark with a distance of 40-3 1/2.
  • Downs and Sarah Hessler both distanced themselves from the rest of the pack in the conference in the discus throw, finishing in the top two spots at the meet. Hessler took the top finish with a distance of 152-11, and Downs was right behind her with a throw of 152-6.

  • The Marauders will look to add a couple more athletes to their roster for the PSAC Outdoor Championships at the Lock Haven Last Chance Meet. The meet takes place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3 in Lock Haven, Pa..
