LANCASTER, Pa. - Freshman Logan Wagner came within one stroke of tying Millersville's single-round scoring record and won his second consecutive tournament, leading the Marauders to a first-place finish at Monday's F&M Spring Invitational played Bent Creek Country Club.
Wagner, who won the Husky Spring Invitational four days earlier, fired a 5-under-par 66, edging his teammate, Timothy Peters, by one shot. It was the best round of Wagner's Millersville career, having played just 11 rounds in Black & Gold. Wagner's round included a bogey-free 6-under 30 on the back nine.
Peters was one shot away from his career-low round. Peters has finished fourth or higher in 11 of 12 events this season. Peters posted an eagle on the par-5 18th.
With Wagner and Peters leading the way, the Marauders scored their fourth team win of 2024-25, shooting a 3-under 281, edging Franklin & Marshall by two shots. F&M's top team put four golfers in the top 11, but Josh Baker and Sebastian Botero tied for 15th at 2-over, rounding out Millersville's scoring.
With the regular season schedule complete, Millersville awaits its postseason fate. They were ranked fifth in the most recent NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, solidly in contention for the NCAA Super Regional, which is set for May 8-10 at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pa.
