2024 PSAC Men's Golf Championship

Rough first round puts Marauders in 10th

| By:
INDIANA, Pa. - A slow start doomed Millersville men's golf to a 10th-place finish out of 13 teams at the two-day Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational held at Indiana Country Club.

Before this week, Millersville had not finished lower than fourth out of 10 at any Division II tournament this season. But an opening round 325 put the Marauders in 12th place, 20 shots out of the lead. They somewhat bounced back on Tuesday, posting a 311--the sixth-lowest round of the day. It was only enough to move two spots up the leaderboard.

Timothy Peters found his usual place in the top 10, finishing in a tie for seventh. He opened with a 77, and on Tuesday, he had moved into first place on the individual leaderboard at 2-under on the day before fading down the stretch. He finished at 4-over on the round and 9-over for the tournament.

Freshman Logan Wagner and Eric Miller were the only other Marauders to crack the top 50 as both tied for 35th. Wagner shot rounds of 80 and 79, and Miller shot a 77 on Tuesday after opening with an 82.

Millersville has two one-round tournaments remaining on the schedule before an anticipated at-large bid to the NCAA Super Regional. The Marauders travel to the Bloomsburg Invitational on Thursday.
