LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Millersville University women's track and field team opened its indoor season at the Bison Open with four first place finishes. Competition began on Friday evening with the pentathlon and continued throughout Saturday with a full slate of events. Along with the host Bucknell, the Marauders competed against fellow PSAC programs Shippensburg, Lock Haven, Bloomsburg, West Chester, and Indiana (Pa.), as well as non-conference opponents Penn State, Mount St. Mary's, Lincoln (Pa.), Carnegie Mellon, and Saint Francis University.
The Marauders posted ten PSAC-qualifying marks over the weekend.
Olianna Oravitz,
Chanel Hercules, and
Aasly De Leon each qualified in the 60 meters, while
Katelyn Murphy not only qualified in the 60-meter hurdles but also set a new school record in the event.
Victoria Massoom also earned a qualifying mark in the hurdles.
Milan Snell added two more qualifiers in the 200 meters and 400 meters, and
Bri Pollock rounded out the group with a qualifying time in the 3000 meters. Oravitz also secured a PSAC-qualifying mark in the long jump, while
Chloe Enck added another qualifier for Millersville in the weight throw.
Ava Wilson,
Megan Hechler, and
Marissa Hillegas represented Millersville in the pentathlon, placing eighth, ninth, and eleventh. Wilson led the trio with a second-place finish in the high jump at 1.55 meters and added two fifth-place performances in the 60-meter hurdles and the 800-meters. Heckler followed with a strong third-place high jump mark of 1.52 meters, while Hillegas earned her top result in the shot put, finishing sixth with a throw of 9.21 meters. Those results can be found

Starting off the day in the 60-meter prelims, Hercules (7.84) and Delaney Wenger (8.27) each recorded personal-best times. In the 60-meter hurdles prelims, Murphy clocked an 8.88 for a second-place finish, while Massoom also posted a new PR. Murphy then returned in the finals to run another personal best, winning the event in 8.81, and marking a new school record. De Leon added another Marauder victory with a PR of 24.07 in the 200 meters. In the 300 meters, Shelby Derkosh was the top Division II finisher with a time of 42.37 after Bucknell swept the top five spots. Snell secured a first-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 59.42. The Marauders continued their success in the distance events, adding five new PRs in the mile run—highlighted by Kira Chebishev's third-place finish and Bella Ruefle's fifth-place performance in a personal-best 5:20.76. In the 3000 meters, Pollack and Olivia Sunderland claimed first and second, with Sunderland achieving a new PR. Emilea Alleman followed with another personal best in fourth, and Breia Mayes rounded out the group in fifth.
In the high jump,
Ava Ceulers added another PR for the Marauders with a mark of 1.45 meters.
Olianna Oravitz delivered another Millersville victory in the long jump, tying a Bloomsburg athlete for first with a 5.56-meter leap. In the weight throw,
Chloe Enck posted a mark of 15.31 meters to finish sixth, trailing only Division I competitors from Penn State and Bucknell.
