MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Eli Nabholz '19, one of the most accomplished starting pitchers in Millersville baseball history, has returned to guide the program's pitching staff.
Nabholz has worked as the director of operations and pitching coordinator at FullReps Training Center since 2021 and fills the vacancy left by Ryan Kramer, who accepted an assistant coach position at Division I Campbell University.
"First I want to congratulate Ryan Kramer on his next step in life," said Millersville head coach Jon Shehan. "He did a great job at Millersville developing our pitchers and helping us compete as a program at Division II's highest level the last four years. Campbell is getting a talented pitching mind. I want to thank him for making us better during his time here.
"Second, we are thrilled to be hiring Eli Nabholz," continued Shehan. "It's going to be an easy transition for Eli, our coaching staff, and the pitching staff, as he lived out our values here as a great pitcher. He knows what it takes to be successful at this level. His organization and communication skills were off the charts when he worked here previously as a coach, and he's been working with a number of our current and professional arms over the last four years including recent Phillies' signee Zack Tukis, and big leaguer Tim Mayza. We are thrilled he's heading home to coach at the 'Ville!"
While at FullReps Training Center Nabholz worked closely with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. He managed daily operations, created individualized programming for athletes, and integrated throwing and strength and conditioning. He also worked as an on-floor trainer, and he helped place 100% of graduating high school seniors into collegiate programs with 10 pitchers signing professional contracts.
As a student-athlete at Millersville, Nabholz was one of only two pitchers to win the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year Award two times and was a three-time All-PSAC East and All-Atlantic Region selection. Nabholz posted a 2.69 ERA and 24-8 record in 41 starts from 2017-19, striking out 262 batters in 240 2/3 innings. In three seasons, he won the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week award nine times, and in 2017, he became the sixth Marauder to throw a no-hitter. Nabholz was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 38th round of the 2019 MLB Draft. In rookie ball that summer, he struck out 33 in 31 1/3 innings and a 4.31 ERA.
Nabholz steps into a role that has consistently produced outstanding results during Shehan's tenure. In addition to Kramer's recent move to Division I, Ryan Forrest, who led Millersville's pitchers from 2014-16, is now at Boston College after six years as Air Force's pitching coach. Since 2010, 11 Millersville pitchers have been drafted or signed professional contracts, and five earned All-America honors. Millersville's staff led the PSAC in strikeouts in 2024 and first in batting average against in 2023,
