Millersville baseball ranked No. 1 in first NCAA regional rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA has released its first regional baseball rankings, and Millersville is in the No. 1 spot in the Atlantic Region.
The regional rankings ultimately determine the field for the NCAA Tournament, with seven teams qualifying from the Atlantic Region. This week's rankings put additional weight on the final regular season series between the Marauders and West Chester, as those two teams rank first and second respectively. With East Stroudsburg ranked third, the top three teams in the region all play in the PSAC East. Seton Hill came in at No. 4, followed by Frostburg State, Charleston and IUP.
There is still much to be determined with the regular season coming to a close for Millersville on Friday and the PSAC Tournament beginning Wednesday, May 8 in Slippery Rock. The winners of the PSAC and Mountain East tournaments receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show is set for Sunday, May 12. The top two teams in the final regional rankings will host a regional.
