MOHNTON, Pa. - Charley Kirby placed seventh in a field of 31 golfers as the Millersville women's golf team placed fourth out of five teams at Tuesday's Alvernia Invitational.
It was the third competitive round in as many days for the Marauders, and they will have just one day off before traveling to the Husky Fall Invitational on Thursday. Fatigue could certainly have been a factor as Kirby was the low Marauder with an 85--four shots higher than her scoring average.
Ledgerock Golf Club played challenging as only two players in the field broke 80. Kirby picked up her second consecutive top-10 finish, and Amanda Wolf earned her third in five events by tying for ninth. She shot a 14-over 86.
Ashden Stitt and Sydney Barnes tied for 15th with matching 87s. Emma Schotsch posted a 90 and placed 20th. Lex Pfeufer finished in 22nd with a 92.
