Marauders get first tournament win of the season

DANVILLE, Pa. - With two golfers in the top five and three scorers in the top 10, the Millersville women's golf team edged host Bloomsburg by one shot for the team title at Thursday's Husky Fall Invitational.
Millersville's 63-over bested the eight-team field on a challenging Frosty Valley Resort course. Millersville has won the event in back-to-back seasons, and it was the team's first win of the season.
Senior Amanda Wolf led the way for the Marauders, tying for third with a 12-over 85. She tied with freshman teammate Bailey Toporcer, who was in the field as an individual. Charley Kirby, the reigning PSAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, posted her third consecutive top-10 finish by placing fifth with an 87. Ashden Stitt tied for eighth with an 89, posting her second top 10 of the season. Emma Schotsch and Sydney Barnes tied for 16th with matching 94s.
Millersville just held off a Bloomsburg team that also placed three golfers in the top 10, including runner-up Ryleigh Faust.
Millersville's win was its 30th since the program's first in 2013.
