Marauders take home wins at Bison Open and Mini Dip Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Marauders had a busy weekend after competing in both the Bison Open & Multi in Lewisburg, Pa. and in the Mini Dip Invitational in Lancaster, Pa. Millersville found success in both the track and field events, winning six events between the two meets.

- The Bison Open & Multi was highlighted by the duo of Darian Hauf and Megan Malecki tying for first in pole vault. Both Marauders were able to clear 11-5 and share first place.
- Sarah Hessler finished fourth in the shot put, recording a distance of 41-10 3/4.
- Hannah Sweda also finished fourth after finishing the 5,000-meter run with a time of 19:21.22.
- Hessler had a dominant day at Franklin & Marshall, taking home two wins. Hessler improved on her shot put distance from the Bison Open & Multi, recording a distance of 42-2 1/4 this time around. In the weight throw, Hessler took home first with a throw for 50-10 1/4.
- Maddy Downs finished just behind Hessler in both events, finishing second in shot put with 48-6 and third in weight throw with 38-0 3/4.
- Hauf and Malecki's success carried over as well, as the duo shared first place again in pole vault. They each cleared 11-5 at the Mini Dip Invitational, and Aubrey Bitner also placed fifth after clearing 9-5 1/4.
- In the long jump, Chanel Hercules took first place with a jump of 16-7 3/4. Just behind Hercules was Bitner with a jump of 16-5 1/4.
- Millersville dominated the 400-meter dash, having each of the top four finishes. Aubrey Sydnor took home first place with a time of 1:01.33, Shelby Derkosh was the runner-up with a time of 1:01.54, Ashlyn Hickey got third place with 1:02.57, and Mary Weiss finished just after with a time of 1:02.88.
- Derkosh and Hickey helped the Marauders take first place in the 4x400-meter relay, along with Aurora Conrad and Lindsay Solderitch. The group finished with a time of 4:14.31.
- Danika Bolinsky finished in second place in the triple jump, recording a distance of 34-8 1/2.
- In the 60-meter dash, two Marauders finished inside the top five. Conrad got second place with a time of 7.98, and Anaya Johnson finished fourth with 8.15.
- Solderitch nearly got a second first-place finish in the 800-meter run, finishing in second place with a time of 2:28.15.
- In the 60-meter hurdles, Katelyn Murphy and Lily LaBure advanced to the finals, with Murphy getting third place and LaBure finishing seventh. Murphy finished with a 9.49 and LaBure recorded a time of 9.98.
- In the 200-meter dash, two Marauders earned top-five finishes. Johnson got third place with a time of 27.44, and Camree Patterson recorded a time of 28.03.

- The Marauders hit the road next weekend as they'll compete in the Plex Shootout at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Reading, Pa.
