
Strong second round propels Marauders to seventh place finish at Super Region Preview

LEBANON, Pa. – The Millersville men's golf team tied for seventh place out of the 25-team field at the Super Region Preview.
The Marauders improved by four strokes from round one (307 and 303) to jump three spots in the standings, forcing a tie with Cal (PA) and Fayetteville State. Gannon won the tournament with a team score of 20-over-par.
In the most recent regional poll, the Marauders were ranked 11th in the Atlantic Region. 'Ville finished the Super Region Preview tied with Fayetteville State (610) and ahead of Virginia Union (611), Charleston (622), Livingstone (623), West Liberty (629), Glenville State (633), and West Chester (652), all of whom were ranked ahead of the Marauders in the regional poll. In total, Millersville tied for third out of the Atlantic Region programs competing in the tournament.

The Marauders now wait for the updated NCAA DII Regional Poll to see if the team or any individuals qualified for the Regional Championship which runs from May 11-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Three Marauders tied for 31st in the tournament as Bobby Lugiano, Noah Keener and Christopher Knox each carded a 152. Lugiano had a bit of a drop off in day two, carding a 79 after shooting a 73 in the opening round. Keener saw his score improve by four strokes as he shot a 78 in round one and 74 in round two. Knox was the most consistent of the group, carding a 75 and 77.
- Ty Morral finished tied for 58th as he carded a 157. Morral shaved off five strokes from round one, carding an 81 and a 76.
- Carl Ernst rounded things out for Millersville as he tied for 70th while shooting a 159. Ernst was the most improved Marauder from day one as he cut down his score by seven strokes, shooting an 83 and 76.
