Marauders finish as runner-up at Husky Invitational

DANVILLE, Pa. - Behind Bobby Lugiano's third-place finish, the Millersville men's golf team placed second in an eight-team field at Thursday's Husky Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg at Frosty Valley Resort.

Millersville sent two teams to the tournament. It's No. 1 team shot a 22-over-par 310 to finish nine shots behind invitational winner West Chester. Millersville No. 2 team took third place by shooting 28-over.

Lugiano's 3-over-par 75 and Carl Ernst's 4-over 76 paced the No. 1 team. Noah Keener also tied for 12th with a 79. Christopher Knox rounded out the team's countable scores with an 80. The No. 2 team was led by Eric Miller, who tied for fifth with a 76. Drew VonStein cracked the top 10 with a 78, and Bo Meakim shot a 79 to tie for 12th.

Millersville has one invitational remaining to bolster its case for a bid to the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional. The Super Region Preview is played at the Iron Valley Golf Club, which will host the NCAA event in May. The Marauders were ranked 11th in the most recent NCAA ranking and need to be among the top-10 teams to receive a spot in the field.
