MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville women's golf team won its second-consecutive Millersville Invitational on Saturday, shooting 56-over-par (344) which beat out second-place West Chester (348) by four strokes. Jefferson followed in third with a score of 62-over-par (351). The Marauders were the only team to have all four golfers finish with scores less than 90.
'Ville was led by Taylor Hileman who shot 10-over-par and finished with a share of third place as an individual. The junior has enjoyed this event and Tanglewood Manor the past two seasons as she led the team to a first-place finish in 2022 with a career-high eight-over-par 80.
Hileman was followed by both Amanda Wolf and Charley Kirby who each shot 15-over-par to finish with shares of eighth place. Kirby earned the same score a year ago while Wolf improved her score by six strokes. Emma Schotsch rounded out the four Marauder scorers with a 16-over-par, which is one stroke higher than her 2022 score.
Today's victory marks the team's first of the spring and second of the academic year.
Millersville has two scheduled Invitationals left before its heads to the Berkleigh Golf Club on Friday, April 28 for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship.
The Marauders will be back on the course tomorrow, April 16 for the Kutztown Invitational.
