
Men’s Golf takes fourth in Mike Bello Invitational

MARCELLUS, NY. – Competing against primarily Eastern region teams, the Marauders carded a fourth-place finish in the Mike Bello Invitational, hosted by Le Moyne College.
'Ville held steady in the standings, finishing both days in fourth place. Host Le Moyne, the second ranked team in the East region, won the tournament with a score of 580. West Chester, the number nine team in the Atlantic region and the only other PSAC program competing in the tournament, placed second with a 582. The Marauders finished with a team score of 594, one stroke ahead of Assumption, who is the top ranked team in the East.
West Chester's Ryan D'Arino and Le Moyne's Johnny Gruinger tied for first in the individual standings as both shot a 141 for an average of 70.5 strokes per round.
The Marauders improved by two strokes from day one to day two, carding a 298 and 296.
Ty Morral and Noah Keener led the Marauders and tied for 12th in the standings as the duo each carded a 148. Morral shot a 71 in round one, the best score by a Marauder in the tournament, before carding a 77 in the second round as he dropped nine spots in the standings. Morral rebounded from a tough front nine in round two by shooting an even par on the back nine. Keener improved by two strokes from day one to day two, carding a 75 and 73.
Bobby Lugiano was the next Marauder finisher, tying for 16th as he carded a 149, one stroke behind Morral and Keener. Lugiano improved by three strokes from round one to round two, shooting a 76 and 73. He birdied back-to-back holes on 14 and 15 to shoot one-under-par on his final nine holes of the invitational.
Carl Ernst and Christopher Knox tied for 20th as they had identical rounds, with each carding a 76 in round one and a 75 in round two.
Lugiano, Ernst, Morral, and Keener all recorded a birdie on hole 14 in the second round.
