MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Millersville softball team dropped both games of Tuesday's doubleheader to West Chester at Seaber Softball Stadium. The Golden Rams took game one by a score of 5-4 and game two by a score of 9-1 in five innings.
 
Millersville falls to 13-13 on the season and 2-4 in PSAC East play. West Chester improves to 17-10 this season and 5-1 in conference action.
GAME ONE
	- Alex Schaefer got her day started with three-straight strikeouts in the first inning, which was followed by an Aleese Angelo RBI single in the bottom half of the inning to give 'Ville an early lead.
 
	- West Chester took its first lead of the game in fourth-inning play, scoring five runs after a pair of costly Marauder errors. The first error allowed three runs to come in, including the batter who singled and reached home on the mistake. The second error also allowed the batter to score after an RBI triple, which gave WCU a 5-1 advantage.
 
	- The Marauders fought back in the fifth, scoring three runs off a Sam Fried RBI single through the left side and a Gabby D'Ottavio two-RBI double to deep center field.
 
	- The Marauders entered the bottom of the seventh down one with the top of the order up to bat, but weren't able to rally for a game-tying run.
 
	- Schaefer threw a complete game, fanned 10 batters and allowed just one earned run in the loss. She falls to 10-6 this season.
 
	- Four Marauders recorded multiple-hit games. D'Ottavio's two RBI's led the team.
 
GAME TWO
	- West Chester jumped out to a two-run lead in the first following a pair of RBI singles.
 
	- The Golden Rams added two runs to their lead in the third after recording four-straight hits to start the inning. The runs came off an RBI double and an RBI fly-out with the bases loaded.
 
	- D'Ottavio ended what was a no-hitter bid from Samantha Klug in the fourth inning with an RBI single that scored Lacey O'Donnell. This cut the Golden Ram lead to three.
 
	- West chester pulled away with a five-run fifth inning that forced the eight-run mercy rule at the end of the inning.
 
	- Morgan Crutcher took the loss in the circle and fell to 3-6 on the season.
 
UP NEXT
The Marauders will head to Lock Haven for a doubleheader on Friday, March 31 with action starting a 2 p.m. on the PSAC Digital Network.
