ABOUT THE GAME

• The Millersville Softball team looks to close early-season, non-conference play with a pair of wins against Georgian Court on Friday at Seaber Softball Stadium. 'Ville will begin its extended, 32-game 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East schedule on Tuesday, March 21 at East Stroudsburg. 
• The Marauders haven't had much success against the Lions as GCU holds an 11-2 all-time record, including two wins over Millersville during the 2022 season. The Lions finished last season with a 40-15 record, a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Title and a runner-up finish in the NCAA Division II East Regional. However, both teams are off to 11-7 starts in 2023. 
• First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m. on the 'Ville Sports Network. 

SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS

• The Marauders are off to an 11-7 start this season and part of that is due to Alex Schaefer's performance in the circle. The junior is coming off back-to-back PSAC East Pitcher of the Week awards and holds a 1.29 earned-run average (ERA), 64 strikeouts and an 8-3 record. Schaefer leads the conference in innings pitched (59.2), strikeouts (64), strikeouts looking (18) and wins. She ranks third in opposing batting average (.187) and fourth in ERA (1.29). Morgan Crutcher has also give the Marauders solid innings in 2023, throwing 37.1 with a 2.44 ERA and 23 strikeouts. 
• The Marauder offense is led by Aleese Angelo who holds a .309 average with 18 RBI's, five doubles, two triples and a home run. Gabi Turner is the only other Marauder with double-digit RBI's this season (12). Lacey O'Donnell has been the lead-off hitter Millersville needed, leading the club in both average (.400) and walks (nine). 
• In all, the Marauders have outscored opponents 90-42, outhit opponents 141-95 and held opposing teams to a .216 average. 

SCOUTING THE LIONS

• Georgian Court is coming into this game after winning three-consecutive games, including a 10-0, five-inning victory over Southern New Hampshire on March 10. GCU holds an 11-7 record this season. 
• Adriana Mungo leads the Lions in RBI's (24), hits (25), total bases (44) and average (.439). She's joined by Jadalynn Rodriquez and Taylor Lipkins who each bat over.400 this season. 
• Maddie Rabe leads the Lions in ERA (1.27), strikeouts (21) while pitching 33 innings.
