MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — The Millersville Marauders closed out the home portion of their schedule with a pair of six-inning losses to No. 19 Kutztown Friday afternoon. The Golden Bears won game one 10–2 and took the nightcap 11–3.
Jocelyn Langer extended her on-base streak to 46 with a hit in both games while
Kendra Bumgardner totaled four hits on the day in her final game at Seaber Softball Stadium.
Nicolina Pezzone started out the day strong, striking out four batters and inducing two pop-ups over the first two innings. A three-run homer off the scoreboard put the visitors up in the top of the third, but Millersville answered right back with a
Carly Vaughan two-run double in the home half. After that, it was all Kutztown; the Golden Bears scored in each of the next three frames to secure the victory.
The Marauders were undone by a miscue-filled third inning that put the nightcap out of reach. The Golden Bears sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs on five hits and three errors.
Bumgardner and Langer were involved in all three runs scored in game two. The freshman's hit was a triple that brought home a run, while the senior had an RBI single in the first inning and scored a run later in the game.
The Marauders close out the 2025 campaign with a trip to West Virginia to take on the Shepherd Rams on Saturday, April 26 at 1 and 3 p.m.
