One Day Give

Millersvillle celebrates 10 years of the One Day Give

On Thursday, Feb. 23, Millersville University holds its 10th annual One Day Give, and over the past decade, the fundraising event has made a significant impact on Millersville Athletics and its student-athletes. One Day Give supporters have donated millions of dollars for scholarships, facility improvements and program enhancements, impacting the lives of countless student-athletes and their championship experience at the 'Ville. 

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the One Day Give, Millersville Athletics recognizes some of its top student-athletes and teams from the last 10 years. The achievements of the student-athletes and teams would not be possible without One Day Give contributions.

Rachel Dickinson '15 (Field Hockey)

  • A first-ballot Millersville Athletics hall of famer and deservedly so, Dickinson was the Division II representative at the NCAA Woman of the Year Award ceremony, and was voted the 2014 NFHCA Division II Player of the Year. Making an impact all over the field, Dickinson was a four-time All-PSAC selection and three-time All-American who led Millersville to PSAC title in 2013 and a national championship in 2014. She was also a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. After working as a manager at Clark Associates, Rachel became a full-time stay-at-home mother for her daughter, Ruth. 
     

Sabrina Fusco '18 (Women's Lacrosse)

  • The greatest offensive performer in the history of Millersville women's lacrosse, Fusco broke the program's record for career points and goals scored. As a senior in 2018, Fusco also broke the school's single season record with 71 goals. Fusco was a four-time All-PSAC selection and the 2015 PSAC Freshman of the Year. A multi-time member of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, Fusco was a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete as well. Fusco earned a master's degree at Lincoln Memorial and is now a client solutions manager for Experis. 
     

Sunflower Greene '18 (Women's Track & Field)

  • The most dominant thrower in PSAC history, Sunflower Greene won NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put twice, setting numerous school and PSAC records along the way. She was an indoor and outdoor PSAC Field Athlete of the Year four times and PSAC Championships athlete of the meet winner five times. Greene won 10 PSAC titles, including sweeping the shot put, discus and hammer at the 2019 Outdoor Championships. Greene now works as a budget analyst at Franklin & Marshall University. 
     

Kay Liebl '20 (Women's Soccer/Track & Field)

  • Not only did Liebl produce an unrivaled career on the pitch, she was also a PSAC champion and record-setting track performer. With the soccer team, Liebl set career records for goals and points and earned All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region honors three times. She helped the marauders to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. On the track, Liebl was a member of two PSAC Championship 4x400-meter relay teams, helping the Marauders to back-to-back team runner-up finishes. Liebl was a star in the classroom as well, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as well as United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America recognition. Liebl is now a registered nurse at Hershey Children's Hospital. 


Carlos Martinez-Lucas '22 (Men's Tennis)

  • Martinez-Lucas led a major resurgence in the men's tennis program, leading the team to four postseason appearances, and he was named the PSAC Athlete of the Year in both 2019 and 2022--the first Marauder to win the award twice. Martinez-Lucas also paired with Frank Yanni for a PSAC Doubles Championship and reached the tournament finals in singles as a senior. He was named All-PSAC First Team Singles three times. In the classroom, Martinez-Lucas was a two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. Martinez-Lucas is now pursuing a master's degree in meteorology from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.

Chas McCormick '17 (Baseball)

  • Now famous for his exploits with the Houston Astros in the World Series, McCormick first starred for the Marauders from 2014-17, setting the PSAC record for hits and winning the 2017 PSAC East Athlete of the Year Award. He was the only Marauder named All-PSAC East four times and was a three-time All-Atlantic Region First Team selection. McCormick was the 2016 NCAA Regional's Most Outstanding Player, and he helped the Marauders to three PSAC East titles, a regional championship, a PSAC title and four NCAA Tournament berths.


Shane Ruhnke '19 (Wrestling)

  • He won 97 matches in four seasons and was a two-time All-American, but Ruhnke's 2019 season was one for the ages. He went 27-3 and was named the NCAA's Most Dominate Wrestler of the Year en route to a national championship at 165 pounds--Millersville's first national champ since 1980. He was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the championships. Ruhnke also became Millersville's first PSAC champ since 1995. Ruhnke now serves and United States Army and is deployed overseas. 
     

James Sullivan ‘22 (Men’s Basketball)

  • A difference maker on the court and in the classroom, Sullivan epitomized the term “student-athlete." As part of Coach Casey Stitzel's first recruiting class, Sullivan set a new standard for the program, helping the team to its first PSAC East title since 2008. Sullivan was a two-time All-PSAC East selection and earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 honors two times--a feat never before accomplished by a Millersville men's basketball player. He scored 1,330 points in his career and started 119 games, never missing a single game in four seasons. Sullivan is now an external audit associate at S.R. Snodgrass. 
     

Jaime Vazquez ‘15 (Men’s Soccer)

  • A dynamic offensive weapon on the pitch, Vazquez was named the PSAC Athlete of the Year and All-America as a senior when he totaled 42 points and 19 goals. Vazquez a three-time All-Atlantic Region selection, two-time All-American and closed his career ranked third in career scoring. Vazquez was also a PSAC Scholar-Athlete. Vazquez is now works for Lincoln Financial in annuity sales. 
     

Faith Willenbrock '21 (Softball)

  • Her career was limited to three seasons because of a pandemic, but she still set nearly every record there was to set. Willenbrock crushed 48 home runs and hit .404 in her career, earning NFCA All-America honors in 2021 and All-Atlantic Region honors three times. She led the PSAC in home runs in all three of her seasons on the diamond. In 2021, she was among 15 finalists for the Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II Player of the Year Award.  Willenbrock was a part of the ROTC at Millersville and is now an aviation officer and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army.
