DANVILLE, Pa. - Emma Schotsch returned to competition for the first time in more than a month and delivered a runner-up finish, sparking the Millersville women's golf team to first place at Thursday's Bloomsburg Invitational hosted at Frosty Valley Golf Club.
The Marauders bested the field of seven teams, five of which were PSAC programs. Millersville shot a 65-over-par score, edging the hosting Huskies by one shot. The par-72 course played extra-challenging Thursday with the winning score coming in at 83. Schotsch shot a 12-over 85 for runner-up honors. She's finished in the top five in each of her last two events.
All four of Millersville's counting scores were good enough for top-10 finishes in the 42-golfer field. Charley Kirby posted her second top-10 finish of the season, taking fourth with an 88. Lex Pfeufer earned her first career top-10 finish, placing fifth with an 89. Amanda Wolf rounded out the scoring with a 90, which placed her in a tie for seventh.
The 2023-24 Marauders have now placed third or better in four of six events. Thursday's team win was the 25th in program history and fifth in the last calendar year.
