
Marauders compete at PSAC Individual Championships

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Millersville men's and women's teams wrapped up play in the PSAC Individual Championships on Monday, Oct. 9. The Marauders sent Hui Jen Soo and Chloe Abramowitz from the women's team, and Zach Pernia and Dylan Tull from the men's team.
In singles play, Soo and Abramowitz were both knocked out in the first round, as Soo fell to Kayla Dean, who is scheduled to play in the final match of the bracket, and Abramowitz lost to Alejandra Vera Duenas from Kutztown 4–6, 6–4, 8–10. On the men's side, Pernia was defeated by Gonzalo Barcelo from Kutztown 3–6, 6–4, 6–10. Tull made it out of the first round, winning against Joaquin Perez from Kutztown 7–6, 6–4, but was knocked out in the second round to Thibault Dorval form Edinboro.
In the doubles bracket, Soo and Abramowitz were bested by Katy Graydon and Lydia Vlachou from IUP 2–8. Tull and Pernia won their first round matchup against Fernando Barros and Albert Martin from Bloomsburg 8–2 but were bounced in the second round by the eventual bracket winners, Gordan Mileusnic and Fabricio Sosa from Edinboro.
The Marauders have one more competition for the fall season when they host District of Columbia at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at McComsey Tennis Courts.
